Finds secrets with no fixed format by looking for a trigger word next to a value:

In both types only the secret is redacted.

Added the option to specify a frequency for chart date type x-axes

When the x-axis field selected for a chart is a date, you can now specify a "Frequency". The options are:

  • None
  • Hourly
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

The x-axis will then have a value for each frequency within the reporting period. 

This makes the creation of reports that group by these frequencies easier and allows them to include x-axis values for dates that don't have rows in the report e.g. a daily frequency on a ticket report will include a value of 0 for any days that have no tickets.


The same option is also available when creating a chart on a widget.

Agents can now be given a personal booking link on their agent details screen, and booking types can have their own link too, so an agent's booking page (e.g. /book/agent-name or /book/agent-name/30min) resolves straight to a booking form for that agent and specific duration.

Added Asset Discovery

Asset Discovery is now available as a standalone module within Halo. This allows you to configure asset discovery entirely within Halo, without the need for a separate application.


Please note: In order to use this functionality, you will need to contact your CSM to activate a licence. These licences are shared between your instances of Halo.


Once you have access to the module, you can create a site to connect to.


This gives you access to 4 modules:

You can also change between sites if you have multiple or delete your current site. 


Agent Discovery

This area allows you to download the scripts required to install a monitoring agent on your devices. There are separate scripts for Windows, Mac, and Linux.


Once you have installed an agent, you can view a list of all installed IT Agents. Accessing an individual agent gives you the options to unlink it from your site, run a scan now (only once per hour), or to link it to a scanning group (see the scanning section for more details).


Discovery Credentials

These are credentials that can be linked to your IT Agents. This allows the agents to authenticate against assets in their network and retrieve enriched data. Credentials are stored encrypted in the agent and are applied to all assets in its local network. A scan runs automatically when a new credential is created.

The credential types supported are: Winbdows, SNMP V1, SNMP V2, SNMP V3, SSH, and SSH Certificate


Scanning

This area allows you to configure 2 entities: scanning groups and scanning tasks.


Scanning Groups

Groups can contain one or more scanning tasks and each IT Agent can be linked to a group. This allows you to customise when scans of the Agent are run and allows you to enable network visibility for your IT agents. Once enabled, the agents will scan the local network to discover any IP assets.

Scanning Groups can also have maintenance windows configured.

Scanning Tasks

These can have 2 different types of schedules:

  • Instant - which can be set to run every x hours at a specific minute. Only one of these is allowed at a time.
  • Recurring - This allows you to specify a time of day and which days to run on. Multiple of these can be configured per task.

You can also specify the target IP addresses and which groups to link the task to

CMDB Mapping

This is the standard configuration for a Halo CMDB integration, allowing you to specify what values are set when importing the assets that have been discovered.


This includes configuring user matching, site mappings, asset type mappings, statuses for new/deleted/rediscovered assets, field mappings, etc.


New for this import is the ability to map lists  data to tables in Halo. The following data can be mapped to a table:

  • Antiviruses
  • Network Adapters
  • AI Detections
  • Mapped Drives
  • Hard Disks
  • Certificates

These are then shown in tables in corresponding tabs on the assets. You can view individual records, but these cannot be edited or deleted.



Instead of using the Halo Integrator, automatic imports of assets are handled by webhooks which can be enabled with the corresponding setting. This will handle assets being created, edited, and deleted.

You can view the logs for these webhooks in the Inbound Requests tab.


Manual imports can be performed by requesting an export of the asset data. This data is not available immediately, so a notification will inform you when the export has completed, and you can import the assets. 


The configuration for the CMDB mappings is config-tracked and can be pushed between instances. 

Please note: Config tracking must be used to move the config to allow the same site to be linked to multiple Halo instances.
